How to order it

  1. Clear any past-due filings first. Check your entity status with the Georgia SOS and resolve the requirements below. Tax clearance may be a separate document.
  2. Order it online. Search your LLC in the Georgia portal, request the certificate, and download it. Link in the table above.
  3. Pay the $20 fee. Confirm payment methods and the total in the official portal; extra fees may apply.
  4. Use it inside the recipient's window. The certificate has no state expiration, but banks and other states usually want one dated within the last 30 to 90 days. Order it close to when you need it.

Georgia calls this document the Certificate of Existence. Order it online through eCorp or by mail for $20 ($10 plus a $10 service charge). Other certificates are paper only: a Certificate of Search or of Noncompliance is $10, and a Certificate of Entity History or of Fact is $50.

Important to know about Georgia

  • The Annual Registration ($50 filing fee + $10 service charge = $60 total online, due between January 1 and April 1) must be current. Missing the April 1 deadline triggers a $25 late fee and can lead to administrative dissolution.
  • An online order through eCorp is issued straight away with no expedite fee, so order it the day you file in the other state rather than in advance.
  • Georgia charges $20 for a certificate of existence whether you order it online or by post. The old $10 online rate ended with the fee schedule revised 8/2025 and effective 6 September 2025, which put the same $10 service charge on both channels.
