Iowa calls it the Certificate of Existence and charges $5. Here is how to order it and what must be current first.
Iowa now calls this document the Certificate of Existence. Older Iowa SOS pages and many foreign-qualification checklists still call it the Certificate of Standing; it is the same document. Order online through the Secretary of State business database, then click Print Certificate of Existence on the Business Entity Summary. The certificate prints with a unique Certificate ID that a third party can verify on the SOS website. For foreign entities registered in Iowa the equivalent document is called the Certificate of Authorization.
